STREAM Collaborative led the design of the new home for The History Center and several other partner organizations located in the former Tompkins Trust Company building in downtown Ithaca.

The structure was completely renovated to current code requirements for accessibility, as well as for mechanical and electrical systems. Renovated spaces include the Visitor Center, lobby, exhibit space, library, historical archive, staff offices, meeting rooms, and restrooms. Unique historic details such as bank vaults and column capitals were maintained. The second and third floors were upgraded for use by local non-profit tenants. The Tompkins Center for History and Culture is a must-see cultural destination, delivering vibrant exhibit and program experiences to show the impact of Tompkins County on the world.
